Thanks for posting that up. Good read.
Having owned both of these bikes I must say the article is spot on with much of their opinions. The KDX was impossible to steer and the WR has a bizarr handlebar setup, mushy suspension and the airbox is mental.
It's amazing to see the difference in shootouts between then and now back in the time when money/influence didn't dictate the outcomes so readily.

I read the old tests and drift back in time !

US Dirt Bike did have a habit of praising a bike one Year then saying that it was outdated the next, when they were testing something slightly better.

Didnt the E4 come with the USD???

If thats the case in 1992 the WR200 would have pipped the KDX at the post.

The last of the conventional forked bikes were better than the USD one that replaced it..

Very true Bob. Japanese bike marketing has more to do with Witchcraft than listening to what the public wants !

It would have helped but i do not think that just the RMX frame would have fixed it.

Definate RM125 heratige in that motor. Revs to the moon. (and eats its own powervavle, god damn expensive things)

I know it's been a while since the article was posted,  but any way to get the test again published on here again? Thanks

Hey Dave, sorry for the lapse in time between posts. Actually I bought a very nice, stock '92 WR200. When I was younger I liked them for some reason and I guess it's just always stuck. So now I added her to the stable with my 76 RM250, 81 Maico 490 & 83 IT490. I love reading the older articles that I've read way back when, especially when it comes to the ones that I own. Thanks for everything!
