  Nice work Frosty.
I like that part of a resto, when you start putting items together and it actually starts looking like a bike again !

Thanks guys it should look like brand new nos I have almost everything new you can't use sub standard parts on it now I have to have it all like brand new or you would notice any crappy bits on it straight away but almost have everything motor will be in next week should be rolling in a couple of weeks too. :)

Hey Frosty,
You're doing a great job there, looks fantastic.
I have a very well used blue GT80 like yours. It has a broken frame at the moment. I am bidding on another one now. Do you know what year models were that colour scheme or is it only a 1974 model?
Hope to see it in the flesh one day.
Cheers Grahame.

73 had the high sparkle blue like mine but different stripe 75 onwards went to gloss colours not metalic as such and you'll notice they had silver guards front and back cost cutting. earlier ones 73 and 74 had better colours there was also a very nice metallic red/burgandy colour on 74 alot of cost cutting took place after that insted of chrome alot of things were sprayed silver and paint job not as flash in my opinion.

Yes it was my second bike my first bike was burnt at my mates in the bush fires a z50 with st70 motor my mate lost everything in the bushfires this was his first bike the gt80 he got it brand new I told him I'd do it up he said I could keep the bike this was before the fires but he doesn't have any family photos or any possesions so only fair I give it back to him seeing he gave it to me when I was 8 even though it was painted camo colours and looked like crap, I did have a lot of fun on that bike though and him and dad used to ride it around when there were kids.

Dad spotted it in his shed around 2000 and asked if he could have it for me and his mate said no worries as it was pretty ratty condition by then and our mate said yeah have it it still ran but we slapped a rm80 seat on it and sprayed it red here is me on it must have been around 9 or 10

yes I lost my 79 mx80 and my Z50 he lost a as new 82 xl 250 and a heap of BSA's etc etc he is worried about paying me always trys to but I don't want to sell it to him I'd prefer no money for it I will end up with it any way I can't do much more than look at it so he will get more enjoyment from it.   It was funny I was showing him different pics of and he was getting a bit upset and he is like dad I have never seen them cry but I reckon when I show up at his place suprise him with it might get him crying. ;)

Hi Frosty,
I went and picked up my $10 ebay frame and swingarm and found out that it isn't from an 80. Do you still have an early frame for sale? Is it good, no cracks and straight? How much?
Cheers Grahame.

I have a pe400 to do as new but I am on a parts gathering mission with that I have nos Tank, Speedo, indicators, front guards, side panels, etc etc but I will need more nos parts.

My dad he did nothing I did all the work he just likes to tell people he helped. ;D

I have plenty other bikes to choose from to start doing my rd250 would be good it is already all complete so just needs cleaning right up.

I have been wanting to buy a rg500 too but I have a car to do up as well so no shortage of projects in the near future, thanks Michael.
