as the title say call me stupid but it wasnt my decision. had to drop new rings into a ( i know its not a dirt bike or a yamaha ... but the kawasaki forum is as good as thier bikes) Gpz 500 s 89 model. bores measured on spec for original pistons ring gap was beyond service limit. what im cringing about is i didnt get to hone the bores. I KNOW its half arsed and i should be flogged, but im curious as to if it will be deterimental to the new rings, the bores were good, no scuffing or slap marks and smooth it was burning oil and had carbon deposits in no 1 cylinder no 2 was good, clean. valves ent off with head lapped and head cleaned new umbrella oil seals for the valves new base and head gasket, valve clearance set midway  inlet .15mm ( .13 - .18) ex set .20 (.18-.23) new exhaust gaskets. i have 2 thoughts. one it will be ok'ish, two it will die. its a fun little bike to ride just wondering on thoughts from you guys as strokers seem to use more rings Roll Eyes more often.... least katos IT need's new ones... how was the ride? answer your ph.! everything ive learned being an apprentii tells me NO do pass go! but strapped for cash not my bike nor my money. advice gratefully accepted.
thanks Smiley
