Am thinking of modifying my 200 to a disc front end.
What do I need.Or more importantly what front ends off other bikes will fit.
Can i use my original fork inner tubes and parts and just use the outer fork with the disc brake parts?
Any help much appreciated,
Cheers,
Steve

the easiest way is to get the tree, forks, and wheels. disk etc COMPLETE (uk cost about £ 100 from breakers /ebay )

best to go for a late motocross RM /Yz/Cr right way up forks and it'll fit (USD need so much more space)

cheaper too...............

personally a correctly maintained and adjusted drum is perfectly good, and wont fade if it has top spec shoes.............

good hunting (make sure you get the whole front end , because spacers etc sh_t cost loads )

I put a disc brake front end on my IT200. I got some IT200S forks from america and I got a TT350 front wheel locally. I already had a caliper. My suggestion is any front end with 43mm forks will work. Some forks are longer than others so you may end up with a "chopper" look if your not careful. TT250\350 front end should work OK. Don't mix and match unless you are certain that it will all fit.
I originally had a YZ250 front wheel with KX forks and Yamaha caliper on a 200 I bought. Nothing fit properly. When I got the proper forks, the YZ wheel didn't fit properly and the disc was too big for the caliper. I finally got on to a good TT350 wheel and it all fits like a glove.
If you can get onto a complete front end with all the bits, that would be the way to go.
Oh yeh, the IT200 looks great with a disc up front.

TT250\350 front end should work OK.

The early ones had 41mm forks 86/87

Maybe the later ones have 43mm.

I have used an 85 YZ250N front end on my 82 YZ490J.  The forks fitted straight into the existing triple tree.  Atleast you maintain the Yamaha theme.
