Does this look right?
« on: October 01, 2009, 10:53:28 AM »
Just started checking out the 200. The left side of the upper shock mount looks like it has been hacked off and flipped over. Is it? Plus, I just figured out the rear shock is off a KX. Ugh! no wonder it sits a little low in the rear.

Looks like it, someones gone to the trouble to fit that shock. Atleast you could put it right again if you wanted to fit an IT shock.

Hi Pete, I went and had a look at the mount on a spare frame that I have and it looks the same as the one you have. When I saw your post I thought that it was OK but I wasn't sure. When I painted up my frame I noticed the same sort of offset as in your pic. I thought it strange, so I compared it with the spare frame and they were exactly the same. Yours looks like its a bit daggy but will sandblast up OK.

Every now and then a rear shock comes up on US ebay. Seen them go for around $50.00 US. Mine cost $350.00 AUS to rebuild including re-chrome shaft and new urethane bump stop and bushes. I am pretty happy with it.  Cheers Dave.
