Clarke tank for IT250J
« on: May 11, 2019, 11:59:22 PM »
Just getting a general consensus:

I've never had to do any drilling on any of my aftermarket tanks (including a Clarke on my KDX200). I received this tank yesterday and the petcock area had the mounting threads placed but no actual opening for the petcock tubing. Did anyone else recieve their tanks needing to be drilled? Did you use any other petcock than the original to avoid drilling the two holes (main and reserve) so close together? I was considering buying a simplified Clarke petcock but their website states:

"The YZ 250-465 is applicable with a Clarke style with groove petcock.

IT 250-465 does not fit a Clarke style petcock."

if the thread holes are the same distance as the original IT tap (should be)

drill two holes. use the IT one.
