Hi to all

A quick question what are your opinions on O ring chains on IT's, I have seen comments that they are to wide and damage the cases. Has any one else had problems ?

A DID 520 VT2 is a specifically built narrow X-ring chain for bikes not originally equipped with an o-ring chain. As an alternative on my CRF450R I run a 1 mm washer behind the countershaft sprocket.

Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.

I've got a Heavy Duty Regina X-Ring chain on my IT490.

It fitted fine and cleared all the bits and pieces that it should.

I use the narrow version on the smaller IT's.

Cheers,

Dave.

Loving Bill's work.
Think I'm in my 4th season with never an ignition drama  ;D

I've been running an 0-ring chain since I first put the bike back together, 5 years ago?
Seems fine

Thanks for the advice guys. Still waiting for rings should be here Thursday or Friday. I might even be
able to ride it on Sunday  ::)

IT is sorted ready for a day at Exdown in Kent tomorrow. The new CDI is working well. Started second kick after the rebuild, and first kick since.

Hi to all, great day at Exdown. The IT ran well, but strangely seemed to run richer with Bills ignition. Starting is way better though not single pink all day so that's a big step forward. The track is very tight second and third all day with of camber turns and steep hills. So another step forward. I have one more ride next week then a strip down and sort out for the Welsh Two day at the end of June. Hopefully this year will be a little less stressful

Dave I recon you are not far wrong, Im getting to the point where I can spot an IT part at a thousand yards  ;D
I love getting round on the old thing faster than a lot of younger guys on newer kit. I even managed to run one over yesterday  :o
