Yamaha IT175H. 2W6 Dynotronix CDI.
« on: February 24, 2019, 07:51:47 AM »

I was so pleased with the 2W6 CDI that I fitted to the IT490, I got another for the IT175H.

As expected, the CDI fitted straight on to the bike with no problems. The case is a little smaller, but it still fits snugly in the holder and the band has plenty of tension to keep the CDI in place.

With fresh fuel, the bike started second kick despite not being run for a year or so.

The initial impression is that the bike is a little stronger at all points of the rev range.
Both cold and hot starting were excellent
A good thrashing tomorrow should confirm the initial feelings.

I bought one because it's not very often a newly developed item becomes available for your 38 year old machine. My original CDI will fail at some point, but now I have an insurance policy!

Each time Dynotronix produce a CDI that fits one of my IT's, I'll buy one if I have the money.

The better starting and performance is irrelevant to me as it was ok before.

Anyhoo, I'm off to roost Wayne if I can!

Cheers,

Dave.

Had a great time this morning with Wayne and Tony thrashing round a field in the morning mist testing the Dynotronix 2W6 CDI.

Who needs a go pro?

Despite a sticking float valve that developed overnight, the bike ran like a dream.
Need a new float valve assembly, in-line fuel filter and a fresh set of piston rings.

Thanks for your efforts Bill.

Cheers,

Dave R.

Your welcome, Dave.  Bike sounds like it's running great.  I'm impressed with the one handed riding; 'Look Mom, one hand'.

Is it okay if I share your YouTube video on my website?

How does that even happen?

Big field, two bikes and a near miss. Damn, if we have a near-miss (Safety Concern) here at work there would be a weeks worth of paperwork to fill out!

Cheers,

Dave.
