490 Cylinder 'absorber'
« on: January 14, 2019, 08:15:31 AM »
I am just in the process of doing a complete strip and rebuild of my engine and have 2 new 'absorbers' (part 14 in diagram) to fit. The ones on my cylinder and the new ones have no visible means of fixing, and the ones on my cylinder at the moment a well and truly on there. Any one know how they are held in place??

Thanks

Nigel

My favourite tool, BFI. Brute Force and Ignorance.

Pretty sure they just fit because they are rubber and just jam in between the fins.

ok thanks, I'll take a closer look with that in mind. Just didn't want to start with that as my first attempt in case I was missing something!

Which manufacturer?s production line is that? 😮
All looked a bit messy and slapdash.
My SHED?S more organised than that!

Thanks Fred, that confirms the BFI approach. I have popped mine out with a large screw driver, once the engine is repainted looks like a large rubber mallet then.

Thanks again
