Dt250B replacing steering head bearings?
« on: November 20, 2018, 01:06:10 AM »
My DT250 uses ball bearing top and bottom in the triple clamps. Unless I am mistaken the aftermarket kits use tapered roller bearings. Am I correct in this?
Here is a typical ebay set.

I have a dt2, pretty sure same in this regard. It has a tapered roller kit in it from a previous owner.
What goes up must come down, unless you broke a 'rod 😞

I've used that type of taper roller kit on my DT175 and it worked just fine.

The thickness of the bearings was a couple of mm different making the top yoke sit a bit higher than normal but it was all good.

Cheers,

Dave.
