First meeting of the year for many of us, and I'm glad I got an entry !

The usual crowd will be gathering to share their broken bone stories, tales of expensive winter rebuilds, and to drone on about how bad things are at work ! Oh wait, and to talk about the fun day ahead !

I've treated the old YZ to some new DC plastics whilst largley ignoring any real maintenance issues. It'll be alright on the day!

The DC items were top class for vacuum formed parts. I was impressed for a change.

Top priority, we must get that group photo BEFORE THE RACING STARTS !

Weather forecast looks a bit glum.

Cheers,

Dave R.

Very nice looking bike Dave! I live in Colorado so I will not be able to make the race, LOL! I have an old 1981 it465 ride every weekend.

That would be fun! I do plan on hanging onto the bike. Spent the winter putting it back together. Having fun running around the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Great day with the DFR boys 😁
Thanks for the pics Dave, doesn't Martin look cute in his pink top😂😂😂
Yes sports fans, that is a burning bike in the distance.
Guess the tank split, lesson for us all there 🙄
Redflagged the race, I slowly rode past the fire, and slowly up the next bill, red flags everywhere.
Then some **** overtook me, upper my arm and hit me off!!!
Not impressed.👿

But, a day in the sun with your mates makes up for any minor irritation 😁😁😁

Good to catch up with you all, looking forward to Chelborough already! Not sure what’s up with the yam, I’m thinking it might be clutch side crank seal or reeds, good news is Fowler’s have them in stock, and I have a set of boyesens ready and waiting to fit. Fingers crossed!

Looks like awesome day out. Pleased I have replacement Clarke tanks on my bikes after seeing that fire....
At least you guys got perfect riding conditions, our last round of NZ VMX in Taupo on Saturday was a bit wet to say the least.
Thanks for sharing

Cheers

Thanks for sharing those Dave , looks like a good turnout again and a good day out

That fire is definitely a reminder of how fragile those 35 or so yr  old tanks can be I’ve seen
A quite healthy looking tank split in the sun , I’m with Julia on using  Clarke replacements
    On a “rider”

........ And Dave tries to get past Pete, but fails:

I blame Bill and his Dynotronix CDI for Pete's sudden performance improvement. #siblingrivalry

Robbed from Facebook, Papa J nearly loses the IT250H. Thanks to Matthew Rayner for the photograph.

I did see those photos that Matthew Rayner took. As it wasn't a self inflicted 'off' I thought it better to leave it unposted.

Did you find out who knocked you off ?

Dave.

What bike is #500?  Is that a reverse cylinder engine i see there.  Yamaha wasn't the first then?

Steve.

That’s a very trick triumph in a maico frame.  The engine also has a ktm gearbox. The bikes are provided to two top riders, waaaaaaaaay out of our league!

Have a look here: http://www.tmxnews.co.uk/news/motocross/take-a-look-martin-perretts-pds-triumph-twin/

If he can't start it you can be sure that no-one else could !

I said all along, if there is marsh grass growing out of the side of a hill, you know there's going to be problems !

The relationship of valves and crank had become “less than optimum”!  ::) Don’t think anyone was starting it.
Good ride result there Dave. Nice work Wayne, how’s the hand?
Like the track more now I’ve seen the video.
