Is it WR or YZ?
« on: November 24, 2017, 09:21:24 AM »
I have a question as in the title?
How easy it is to know whether it is WR or YZ?
On the side stand, big tank? Wheel 18 "rear?
What was changed in the WR model for YZ? Better torque, shorter gearbox etc?

WR 200R 1993r.

Off the top of my head;

Stand bosses on swingarm.
VIN and Engine No/model code.
Ignition box - though various models of YZ used the same depending on which WR model it is.*
Stator has 'lighting coil'.
Wide ratio gearbox.

* don't quote me, but think 89 YZ (3SP?) box for 89 to 96(?) WR, and 95 4MX for 96.(?) to 98 WR.

It's not so much a question of IF, more WHEN and how HARD.
