Pillion pegs
« on: August 10, 2017, 03:52:40 PM »
I'm in need of some pillion pegs for my '04 DT. The later models have the pegs on hangers from the rear of the frame, rather than on the swingarm itself (whose bl__dy idea was that?)
Anyone have some or a source of some?
Wreckers are no help, and yamaha want 120 bucks PER SIDE!

Is it the hangers you need, not just the pegs? I'd try aluminium fabricators if they have offcut plate. In my case its a mob in canberra (fyshwick).
What goes up must come down, unless you broke a 'rod 😞

I used a set of these on a DT200:

I got them off eBay:

To make them fit I made an adapter out of 6mmx40mm aluminium bar that I got for five bucks from the local metal supplies shop. I drilled holes and attached the plates to the frame, positioned the pegs where they looked right then drilled and tapped holes to bolt them on.  Sorry, don't have any pics.
