IT425G. Mega oversize piston and rod conversion.
« on: May 21, 2017, 07:34:03 PM »
After the clear success of my YZ125E/RT180/IT175D Hybrid, I felt like trying something a bit more ambitious on my spare IT425G.

I've got a spare piston and rod taken from a Henke/Masa Tiafun Midmatic concrete compacting hammer press. The combo should give me about 1100cc.

Does anyone think that the 140mm piston, weighing in at 150Kg will lead to out of balance vibration ?

If so, I suppose I could use the 30mm stroke single sided crankshaft, but that would only give me just under 500cc.

Cheers,

Dave R.

I reckon the reciprocating mass will be fine, but look forward to the photos of trenching the cases, then the frame, then the bashplate and tank, top triple, and the bars.

Totally feasible Dave,
Just remove the rear shock and run the cylinder up the frame, convert the swingarm to twin shock and you have a winner right there.
Cheers,
Steve.
