After market shock spring
« on: April 17, 2017, 02:45:31 AM »
I asked before about a heavier spring for the yz 80, I dont know if it was deleted, maybe Im asking the wrong questions.

I had an SSR pit bike (125 cc) equivalent to a 50 cc japenese bike that had a really nice rear shock, held my weight with no problem and had plenty of travel.
Im about 190 and would like to keep the yz 80 Im rebuilding as a fun play bike but sinks too much for my weight. Is there any spring that is made for a heavier rider that will fit on the 1983 yz 80?
Thanks in advance.

Perhaps try a suspension place like racetech. They have a calculator on their website which might help you.

Awesome tip, just emailed them to help me decide which spring to buy...

Wasnt sure if I could get a rear spring upgrade for my yz 80 to drag my 200 lb butt... but (no punt intended) there is hope, yes indeed.. ;D
