wr 250 z float height
« on: September 08, 2016, 04:56:31 AM »
Hi
Does any one know what the float hight should be on my 1991 wr 250 zb its got a 3rb flatside mikuni carb wich is the stock carb.

im having real problems as well getting the bike to tick over i can adjust the idle screw all the way in till it grips the slide and then wont move.seems to be rich, all jetting is stock with a fmf pipe but im unsure what the float hight is so will start from there.

the bike is in the uk but imported from california a few years ago but just got round to fetteling with the bike.

I reset the valve on my 200.
Can't remember the value, but remember thinking, how do I measure that from the carb body, it might be at an angle.
It wasn't at an angle when it was set correctly.
So, I reckon, if in doubt flip the carb upside down and set it parallel to the carb body.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

Might want a new float needle/seat assy.

Also worth checking the O-ring that seals the float valve seat to the carb.

It's not so much a question of IF, more WHEN and how HARD.
