Wedderburn 2016
« on: June 11, 2016, 07:34:32 PM »
The beandigo club decided to run a competitive vinduro today before their 8hour pony express event tomorrow . So Big Kev picked up me n IT K for Ken .... And off we went.
There has been heaps of rain lately so we expected some mud, but it was worse than we thought. Sooo slippery that I just grunted my way around, as hitting the band sent me in every direction except the one I wanted. Big Kev had his fat h__da that handled the slop a lot better, and he came second overall after completing 9 laps in the allocated 3 hours. He only stopped for a p_ss ( which he tried to pee on me as I went past ) as he didn't think he needed refuelling. Yours truly came fifth overall with 8 laps completed in the 3 hours, and had one stop to refuel/drink/clean goggles after two hours. Oh and I stalled in a bog heap and fell over.........

Good luck to the Ironmen tomorrow - fighting for 8 hours ! I suppose a modern bike will make it a lot easier😒
the track was used last weekend so there were deep grooves and ruts that were now filled with water. Even the straight bits were slippery clay. The only dry parts were rock-covered single trail tracks through the trees going up and down hills. Two riders fell over on the site lap! I tried going off the track onto the grass ( paddock ish ) but that was even worse! Ah well - that's the fun of it, and we all faced the same slosh !
Big Kev and I at the end

Throttle cable , eh ? Bad luck ! If you had a spare, you'd be lucky to even find your carby under all the mud that was sticking to our bikes !
Hopefully they will run the event again next year😃

Took about an hour with the pressure washer yesterday - the stickiest nasty clay I've come across!😮
But of course I'd ride there again in a heartbeat 😃

Is that journo from southwest UK? ;D

Great to see you're getting some coverage,  you'll be guesting at local community events soon.  :)
