NZ vinduro Kinleith forest
« on: May 14, 2016, 06:42:35 PM »
last weekend I got out for a couple rides ...

the first was Saturday we met up at our local (pirini)) bike park to have a bit of a fairwell ride for a mate who has sold up and moved to
Perth  ::)   I have done a lot of VMX riding with Mark and helped him find and import his now 12 Maico,s which will soon be off to Perth

it was a great day the track was good and the bikes went well  :)
this is Marks Maico 490

On the Sunday Jono ,Brian and I went to the last round of the vinduro series in the Kinleith forest
it was really well organised with a vast selection bikes .
the track was 60k laps and one 90K lap Jono entered in the vinduro itself and Brian and I just did the trail ride which is the same track your
 just not timed .
the track was a lot of tight stuff with big ruts ,tree roots , and the odd steep incline and decline with mud ,rocks etc you get the picture
a bit of everything it was a good ride and challenging deffinatley a 125-250cc coarse  ...so taking the YZ490 raised some eyebrows  :D
it was hard work and the YZ used a full tank and most of it was 1st-2nd gear  :-[ after the first 60k loop I was knackered and the YZ wasn't
enjoying it either  :o so that was me  :D I then find out Brian only did about 3k and called it quits as it was to difficult I thought it was a big
ask as he is still learning
Jono did awsum on the IT175J coming second in his class and 10th overall  ;D and he said the second 90K track was a killer
he lost count of how many times he came off and calls me on Monday and said he has a bruised elbow, rotator cuff damage and delayed concussion  :o
all in all a good day

Sounds like Jono had the best time! My best rides have been those that have left me bruised and battered, and the symptoms always appear the next day! A good read, it must have been a good day riding, and although the 1st-2nd gear riding on the 490 sounds tiring, it only shows what a great track it must have been!

   Cheers, Fanis

Great pics and ride report Muzz.  It is certainly a great ride.  I did it last year on the TT350 with Carl on the IT250H.  We had a great time, I was totally Knackered but finished.... 2nd to last .... ::) ::)

Carl thought it was a Sunday cruise ....

Couldn't make it this year due to moving house that weekend.  Hope to be there for next year complete with new Hip !!

Cheers, Steady

You'll have to organise an exchange program - that is God's Country for trail riding.
