I'm probably going to get crucified for this, having ridden both bikes back in the 80's the aircooled KDX 200 was definitely the better bike, if you were going to race that is.  Although, if you just wanted to tool around trail riding then the IT was the weapon of choice.

Interestingly enough, I bought a 1989 KDX200 new, it was the first of the watercoolers with a "power valve" and was absolutely crap, power delivery more like a trail bike, completely gutless down low with not much of a power band.
