Anybody fitted an IT tank to a DT? I'm thinking of making a DIT or an IDT

Presuming and older model DT....?

Mate has a couple DT's ('76 DT400C and '79 DT250MX)....neither a 425 or 465 tank would work without zipties/wire etc..... Dunno about the rest.

Ahem, I best clarify why we tried this.....  ;D ....mate bought another DT250 (D-E ish) for spares but apart from a multitude of rusty bits, looked like it would run (it did) but the steel tank was more akin to a rusted sieve...so we tried the two handy IT tanks. Went with just a carby bowl full. At the time DT400 tank was mid being carbon fibre clad and MX was just a rolling chassis sans tank. All three bikes are now just one DT400C

Cheers,
Chris.

It's a DT250E, might have to change the tank mounts to makum a bit wider.

From memory it was "closer" with the F as it was similar mono shock but the 400/250 was very ordinary.
