DT230 Exhaust and Muffler
« on: October 30, 2014, 03:47:56 PM »
Wanted to check the inside of the DT230 exhaust as I read somewhere that it may have a cat converter contained within and also wanted to find out how on earth it could possibly be so heavy

...so I cut it open

No cat converter, but a crap load of sound packing and carbon which I scraped off

Welded it back together, filled it full of Diesel, soaked it for a while, lit it on fire, inserted air and blew...resulting in diesel running down street on fire...sheeeiiittt. No photo of that, EPA might come a knockn.

After that effort, thought it might be time to try another pipe, ebay UK again and sourced a Big One Exhaust and Muffler from the DT125X

Not quite the shape I thought it was going to be

Performance wise from the BigOne, no significant power gains to be had, but the weight saving is worth it and it sounds alright too

An Arrow system from Europe off the DT125R/X 04-06 also fits and looks a hell of a lot better than the BigOne (thanks to HoonTune for these photos)
