I need IT200 fork gap measurements
« on: June 28, 2014, 03:57:06 PM »
I have a conundrum with a conversion on my IT465J, which is a 4V6 motor in a 5L4 (IT250J) frame....and an IT200S front end.

I think.... :o

Can someone with an IT200S please measure the gap between fork tubes please. Mine measures 147mm or 5-13/16th" (5.79)....ish.

I have a front wheel offset issue and think I may have 250K triples.... :-\

Cheers,
Chris.

the gap between the triples?

No, the tubes themselves or the gap between them where the wheel goes.

did that bike have 43mm forks?

No, the 250/465 had 38mm but I have straight bolted on an IT200S disc brake front end complete*.

Chris, my 200S measures approx 143mm at the top section of the fork(it is undercut in the middle section between clamps) the same as the drum braked models.  I only had a small 150mm vernier here and it did not quite reach to the centre of the fork tubes.
Max.

That top clamp looks like it's off a YZ,IT 200 top clamp seems to fit a weird mix of models.

I have a top clamp supposedly off a YZ 125 S,which is the same part as the 200 and it measures across from inside edge of forks at 141.8 mm plus 43mm to centres = 184.8mm fork centre to centre.

IT 490 K inside edge measures approx 147mm plus 43 for 190mm centre to centre.

Cheers Craig

Well that pretty well confirms it, thanks Max....with the space I have and the spaces reported I have too wide triples. Given it has 24Y-2 stamped underneath the top clamp I suspect it is the 250K version as it has the threads for the speedo cradle. The YZ and IT 250K have different part numbers although sharing the 24Y prefix.

Will post pics of my issue when planets align..... ::)
