I love the height with that shock  ;D  It fits the front forks completely.  Should be just right for my height.  What shock is it?

That shock looks like YZ125 J or at least IT/YZ 81 or 82.
No rush, there's plenty of time. Do it next week, what could have been done today.

You have a nice project bike. And a Good one as well. :D The 200 is a great bike and you cant hardly kill that engine. I have had crank seals go out and the engine just keeps on running.

If your shock is to long it may cause some bad handling issues. A few guys have tried to put YZ shocks on with out much success. Get us a center to center distance of the shock bolts and we can compare it to the correct shock. The only YZ shock I am aware of that is even close to use on the IT200 is the 84 YZ125 and it had both compression and rebound clickers.

Is that a new side panel or did you clean it up?? If you cleaned it up what method did you use?? AL

The 84 YZ125 shock is just a few mm's longer than the IT200 shock. In your case it might help a lot being you race the bike. I will see if I can find my shock lenght chart. Check the link below. It shows, Make, Model, Year, lenght & etc. Al

thanks for the link -

the reason i'm going to try the yz shock is to get a little height, and racetech lists a bigger range of springs available for it...
