Be wary with the crank seals stainless, as most of the crank seals I have replaced have been teflon lines on the inside, i.e on the side closes to the crank cheeks. They arent a standard seal. That might account for the double lips.

a standard double lip i.e. adl/tc/hmsa7 etc. in nbr or viton is more than enough to deal with the environment.  i do not know why yamaha specs sd, it's a low/medium pressure seal, that isn't doing anything special, there's not a particularly high runout.   as i said, if you put 2 2 32x44x4 back to back, you get 2 seals, and 2 dust wipers.  it's not the best way for sure.  it's a moot point, i don't believe 32x44x4 exists anyways..

very few manufacturers use a crank seal that is not available off the shelf.

anyways, i was just putting the seal numbers out there - i use yamaha seal for wet side.  ignition side (and every other seal on the motor) i use aftermarket.

I see this thread is a couple of years old now, but still seems to have a lot of info missing.

I looking at rebuilding the rear suspension and shock on my 85 IT200N.
Looking at the parts list and  exploded parts diagrams there appears to be a truck load of expensive (at Bike Bandit prices... I guess thats why they are called bandits?) bearings and seals.
Any recommendations for an easy way to go here?
I can seems to see any detailed listing for alternatives?.. is the only option to buy OEM?

Hi Kiwi,

All balls do a linkage set for the IT490K,fits the IT200.
As far as your shock goes, the body is probably f___ked internally, but most dealers just re gas + oil + seals.
I have had new shock bodies machined up and shafts re chromed, but very expensive.

Cheers,
Steve.

And the eye spherical bearings are the same as the YZ125L as well apparently. Search for yz125 and bearing or similar and someone has posted the part numbers for all balls kits.

Thanks Steve, so far the shock body looks ok, My suspension guy has recommended using an alternative seal, so will see how that goes .
Searching 1983 It490 (and 1985 IT200) both got zero results on the Allballsracing.com website??

My searching skills dont seem to be up to scratch today... I searched this forum and YZ125 forum and cannot find anything about this. Also google couldnt find anything either.
