DT125RE 2004-2006
« on: November 18, 2013, 04:17:22 AM »
Here's pics at my ex. '06 DT125RE which I had years 2008-2010:

That was good bike. I tuned it with Doma exhaust and Boyesen reeds. Still miss it sometimes... :'(

RE was last generation of DT125's. It was quite similar with older 125R model. RE had only electric start, different gas tank, plastics and seat and there were no rpm meter.
These are still quite popular bikes here in Finland, along with Husqvarna SMS and KTM EXC. 2006 was last year of new DT's, then it died away due tighter pollution regulations (thank's EU!). Still one of best 125cc 2-stroke bikes ever made. Strong and reliable engine with good driving characteristics.

A 2 stroke 125 with electric start only WTF is that all about, did it run a 12v system and would the headlight fit a 490 do you think?

Yes it had 12V lighting system. Even my '86 RD125 has 12V lights and battery to run YPVS valve. That's why I was little bit surprised when I found out that IT has only 6V lights.
Not sure about headlight size. They are quite hard-to-find as used and new one is really expensive. If I'm right, same aged WR250/450 uses same light.
