Seriously the Pony Express races held years ago were the greatest racing format go hard, hand over, rest, take over, go hard. Definately more fun than Enduro and MX, if someone brought em back I would get my son to team with me and go again.

IT400C - That 1986 picture looks like your K is sporting the real-deal Barkbuster brand handlebar loops. Those were great pieces, copied the world over. I had some from my KLR that got transferred to my IT, but they got lost when my IT was stolen.

Qld enduro still run about 3 pony express races a year, I believe a couple of years ago they used the Tambo property too. So maybe you can start doing them with your son again. They are mid year near Kyogle, Gympie and Kingaroy at this stage.

e

Couldn't agree more. I love the pony express format.  Very fun way to spend a day with your mates on a bike. I also used to race the iron man class a lot which is a fun way to test yourself and your bike.

I read this message twice, thinking "WOW, this guy had the exact same experience as me!"

...and then I looked at the author, and the message date. Then I thought "WOW, that guy must be losing his memory!"
