I have a 38mm lectron power jet all rebuilt ready to go but have not tried it yet, also bought a new 39.5 pwk for my WR500, Service honda use these on there KX and CR 500's. have not fitted this one yet either, I have the original one running fairly good, I think most carbs will do, it all comes down to jetting.
I will be using the original for my IT490 project but with the UFO and power jet from thunder products, It will be very interesting to see what the UFO will do, they are claiming alot better throttle response.

I have been very happy with all the Lectrons that I have fitted to my bikes over the years.
And I suspect that once properly jetted the PWK should be much better than the round slide Mikuni.
I have also had good results fitting UFOs to Mikuni round slides.
I have also had good results with power jets.
You just need to have the place and time to set them up whatever you choose.
If Jock has offered you the PWK for a good price then what are you waiting for!

Actually just read up on the lectrons... They seem to be in a class of they're own..

Are they good from your experience???

Cheers and love to hear some more.

I've just been too slack to order the correct needles for my Lectron, or to organise with Mark to borrow the recommended needle to see if it's correct....
Even with the wrong needle in it, the throttle response still left the Mikuni for dead!

Used a 39 PJ from a CR on a '83 490 in a enduro sidecar and it was a great improvement over the stock VM, much better hot starting and consistant idle.

Can't rightly remember the jetting we ended up with, slightly richer main, and we had to mess about with needles to get the midrange part throttle nice and clean.

It's not so much a question of IF, more WHEN and how HARD.
